Holograph

Your media stays yours.

Holograph works with the folders you choose and processes your media on your Mac.

Privacy policy · Effective date: October 4, 2026

Who this policy covers

This policy describes Holograph for Mac, this website and messages you send for support. Holograph is published by Matthew Aitken. For privacy questions, email 0zm4@pm.me.

Your files and local app data

Holograph reads media and metadata in folders you authorize. It stores preferences, folder access bookmarks, collections, favourites, playback positions, user-managed people labels, thumbnails and analysis results locally. Media analysis uses on-device processing; your media is not uploaded to a Holograph server for analysis.

Finder tags are written to the files you choose. File operations and Photos imports can change or copy files when you request them. Files in iCloud Drive or another synchronized folder may be transferred by that service according to your settings.

Tracking and accounts

The app has no Holograph account requirement and no advertising or cross-app tracking system. It does not include a separate third-party analytics SDK. Opening a website or an external player uses the service or app you select, with its own privacy practices.

Diagnostics and beta testing

Holograph writes technical diagnostics to your Mac’s system logs. Private log fields are redacted in ordinary system-log views. Review logs and screenshots before sharing them: they can still contain information about your device or media.

Apple may provide app analytics and crash information through its distribution services. TestFlight sends developers crash logs, usage information and feedback; beta testing can also share your name and email address. These services follow Apple’s App Analytics, TestFlight and App Store notices.

When you contact support

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include, such as a description, screenshots or diagnostic attachments. We use this information to reply and investigate your request. Please avoid sending private media, passwords or unrelated personal information.

Support correspondence is handled through the support email service. We retain it while needed to resolve the request and meet applicable obligations. You can ask us to correct or delete information you provided, subject to any necessary legal retention. Support email uses Proton Mail; see Proton’s privacy policy.

This website

The website is hosted by Cloudflare. Delivering and protecting the site involves processing connection information such as IP addresses and request data. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. The current site code has no advertising trackers, contact form or separate analytics script.

Your choices

You can remove library folders from Holograph, manage tags and people labels, and clear saved analysis from Settings. Removing a library entry does not delete its source files. Local app data may remain after an entry is removed; cloud backups and file tags are managed separately. Contact support for help removing stored app data safely.

You choose what to include in support messages and beta feedback. Manage Apple analytics and cloud-service settings with those services.

Changes and contact

We will update this page when our practices change and show the effective date here. Email 0zm4@pm.me with privacy questions or requests.
